Dr. Gordon Edge has had a career-long involvement in energy, the environment and climate change, initially in academia and journalism, and, most recently, in senior roles in advocacy for the renewable energy industry and in the delivery landscape. He has a deep understanding of the policy and politics around energy in the UK and Europe. He is currently leading LCCC's strategic thinking and interactions with the external world, aiming to position the organisation for growth in a rapidly decarbonising economy.
At RenewableUK during a period of great change within the industry, Dr. Edge held overall responsibility for coordinating policy issues relating to all aspects of planning, economics and delivery of the technologies that the association champions. He was previously recruited by Financial Times Energy to establish and edit Renewable Energy Report, a monthly publication covering business and policy developments in the wind, solar, biomass and geothermal sectors, and prior to this he wrote for and edited specialist electricity magazines.
