Simon Wannop

Simon is a co-founder and Director of REG Power Management (RPM) following the management buy-out of the former AIM-listed REG business in 2015. During his time at REG, Simon led the company’s M&A, financing and PPA activities, covering REG’s onshore wind, solar and biopower assets. Simon also took the lead on managing the company’s relationships with existing and new asset management clients, helping this business double in capacity under management from 2016 until it was sold in 2019. In 2019, Simon and two colleagues launched REG Power Developments (RPD), principally focused on greenfield onshore wind and solar development under co-development agreements with joint venture partners. RPD is currently working on a UK portfolio of onshore wind and solar developments, typically co-located with energy storage and other technologies.  Prior to joining REG, Simon was an Associate Director in EY’s renewable energy advisory team, leading on strategic advisory and M&A transactions in renewables. Simon is a Chartered Accountant, having undertaken his training at PwC after graduating and holds a Masters degree (MEng Hons) in Manufacturing Engineering with Management and French from the University of Bath.
