Simeon Bee

Simeon leads the government’s latest approach to planning and communities for onshore wind and has experience delivering complex solutions in public policy. For the past three years, he has worked in onshore wind policy and has seen both sides of the de facto ban in England.

With the introduction of the new government, his work seeks to address barriers and accelerate deployment of onshore wind, including removal of the de facto ban in England, reintroduction into the Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects Regime, new guidance for the National Policy Statements, and updated guidance for community benefits in England. Simeon will lead the delivery of actions in the final report of the Onshore Wind Industry Taskforce related to planning, environmental consenting, communities and public perception.

Prior to joining the Onshore Wind Team, he also worked on broader domestic renewables strategy looking at long-term ambitions and delivery.
